Porchal

Integrative Design & Transformative AI Project

Porchal is an innovative business design project that combines artificial intelligence with the home environment in a non-invasive way. By transforming a television monitor set up on the front or back porch of a home into a portal across networks of communities, Porchal is designed to connect elders at home in a seamless way and improve their lives. This thoughtful integration of technology creates meaningful social connections while respecting the comfort and familiarity of the home environment, making advanced AI accessible through the simple, trusted interface of a television screen.

Project Scope
We developed a comprehensive business plan and strategy for bringing Porchal to market. This included market analysis, revenue models, competitive positioning, and go-to-market strategies for deploying AI-powered community portals specifically designed for elder care and social connection.
Methodology
Our approach centered on extensive user research with elderly populations to understand their technology comfort levels, social connection needs, and home environment preferences. Through interviews, surveys, and observational studies, we identified key insights that shaped our non-invasive design approach.
Innovation Focus
We utilize voice control and image recognition technologies to facilitate easy access to complex AI systems. This approach eliminates barriers for elderly users, allowing them to interact naturally with advanced community networking features through familiar spoken commands and visual cues.
