“Movement segmented can become numbing, and the breaks and the holds in fabricated time can sometimes feel like the stretches and the morphs. Animation is tedious, time intensive work, and the principles behind making it are truly astounding, but their application in the large majority of media is dissapointing to me. This piece is personal, and it relates to my experience as an animator, interacting with environments that simplify reality into steps, frames, techniques, and an unfortunate rejection of experimentation.”
